The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village

We got passes to the Henry Ford museum and Greenfield Village for the summer! We live like two minutes away and go there about once a week. Greenfield has a train and a carousel that we have to hit every time we go. They also have a Model T ride and a horse drawn carriage you can ride. It is a cute little village that Henry Ford created when he found out his childhood home was going to be knocked down. He decided to buy it and move it here, then decided to buy several other homes around the country and create a little Village. They have the Wright Brothers home and bicycle shop, Thomas Edison's home and workshop where he created the light bulb, and the Heinz family home, to name a few! The village is huge, and even now, I have yet to see it all. Of course, we mostly just head straight for the carousel.
Then there is The Henry Ford, which is amazing! It is huge! They have everything you can think of there. They have a huge sections of cars from every decade, they have a train section, a farming section, a home furnishing through the years section, an airplane section, like I said they have everything! We have loved coming here, and will miss it when we are gone! Here are some of the pictures, from many trips there.
Model T ride, I think it is funny that Sadie wanted to sit up front next to a strange man, she is usually so shy around strangers.

 More Friends

 Riding the train
I think we have been on the is Carousel at least 20 times. Here we are with our good friends Jenni and Scarlett Glauser. We love them!

This is a cute little house they have at the museum. The girls love playing in this house whenever we go
I think this is a corn harvester or something like that. They let you get in there and sit in the drivers seat.
Sadie got to help put together a Model T. They take it apart and build it again every day. In the picture below Sadie is connecting the spark plugs.

Watching a movie with our friends Anna and Luke. This is a theater like one you would have found when theaters first began. It was a silent movie and they would show how the film would split and they would have to fix it in the middle of the movie. They would have someone ready to jump on the piano to entertain the audience while they waited. We have come a LONG way!

Over by the trains they have a bunch of train tables for kids to play with. This has been our favorite place lately. The kids play while I sit and relax on the bench....perfect!

This carousel is almost 100 years old and all of the animals are original. They have a few animals that are worth lots of money, because they are so rare. This one is unique for the time period because it has lots of different animals to choose from, not just horses.

This is only a fraction of all the pictures we have taken at these places! It has been so fun to be able to see such amazing history whenever we want! We will definitely miss it!

A Day at the Beach

We spent the 4th of July at the beach! We went to a lake with some friends, the Glausers's and the Sawaya's, to celebrate. We has so much fun! The girls could have stayed there all day. They loved playing in the water and the sand. Sadie worked on building sand castles, while Hannah worked on destroying them! It was a great way to celebrate the holiday with friends!

The 4th through the years

Happy 4th of July!! We had a fun time celebrating here in Michigan. We started the day going to the Beach with some friends (I will post pictures soon). We went to this nice lake just 45 mins from us. The girls could have stayed there all day!! It was so much fun! We came home and rested and showered and then had our friends come over for dinner. We got a couple of buckets of KFC chicken and it was so yummy! Then the plan was to go see the fireworks, but they were cancelled because of the rain. (Sorry Utah, I wish I could send the rain to you!) Although we were sad the fireworks were cancelled, it was nice to just come home and go to bed, we were tired! Hope you all had a great holiday!
Every 4th of July since we have been married, I have "encouraged" Eric to dress up in festive colors and take a picture with me! Our first one isn't on here because I only have a printed copy of it and it is in Utah, but here is every year since! I thought it would be fun to take a look back at how we've changed, and how our clothes stay the same! Maybe I should get a few different red shirts that I can rotate through! These span from 2008-2012

Blogging Again/ Drive to Michigan

So I have been out of the blogging world for some time now. I have just felt too overwhelmed with how behind I got, and a little "over" the whole blogging experience. Now that we are far from family I have decided to try it again. I am not going to try to play catch up, but just start fresh. We'll see how this goes!

We are now in Dearborn, Michigan while Eric does a summer internship for Ford. We have been here just a few days but we are enjoying it so far. We took 5 and 1/2 days to drive here stopping by in St. Louis at the Rahm's (Eric's Aunt and Uncle's) for a couple of days. It was a pretty smooth trip and the girls did pretty good, considering. Thank goodness for DVD players and Elmo! Hannah had a few melt downs because her sleep schedule was shot. We had to stop a few times on the side of the freeway and just hold her so she would calm down. They were both troopers though and we enjoyed the family time! I wish I was better at taking pictures but here are a few from our trip!

On our way! Sadie is watching a show on the DVD player, which saved our lives on the trip!

Sweet Hannah, you can see how full the back of our van was

These sisters love each other! They are seriously connected at the hip. They can't stand to be away from each other for very long. I hope they stay good friends for a long time!

Lounging in the Hotel. We stopped every night around dinner time to get a hotel. Every day with out fail Hannah would lose it about 15-20 mins before we were to reach our destination. We always felt very happy to see the Hotel!!

We stopped at this Pony express station somewhere in Nebraska. It was at a nice park so we got out and played ate some lunch and took a much needed break!

This is the swings at that same park. The girls could have stayed there all day!

We stopped in St. Louis to visit Eric's Aunt and Uncle. They had a really fun house with an amazing yard! Sadie was so happy there! She wanted to be outside all day, chasing the dog and cat during the day, or trying to catch lightning bugs at night. So much fun. We are definitely stopping there on our way home!

Uncle Ric took us for a fun tractor ride all around his 4 acre yard. The girls never wanted to stop

We went to the St Louis zoo while we were there. It is a great zoo and is totally free! The only problem is we went on a day that was 94 degrees with 80 % humidity! We were literally melting, as you can see in the photo. Sadie's face says it all!

This fountain was amazingly ice cold, so the girls couldn't resist putting their feet in! They probably would have jumped in if we would have let them

Kalamazoo Michigan
This was our last stop on our journey. The girls found the ice bucket and thought it made a pretty good hat. Hopefully they clean those out really good between use, somehow I doubt it! Oh well that's what the liners are for, right?

Sadie sporting the bucket hat

Our little place. We had to get furniture after we got here. This is how we improvised until then! We furnished our house from craigslist for about $100!

Ford's Royal Headquarters. It is amazing living in the middle of the Ford Headquarters! Everyone in Dearborn drives a Ford, and there are Ford buildings everywhere! Multiple roads and buildings are named after Henry Ford. There is so much amazing history here!

9 Months

I can't even believe that our sweet little Hannah is 9 months old today! Where did the time go? She is the absolute sweetest little thing in the world! She is the best baby and is always in good spirits, except for when she's not and then she lets us know it! We are so in love with this little girl and can't wait to see her personality develop even more! We love you Hannah! You are the best!

Happy 4th!

We had a nice 4th of July this year! It started at 8 in the morning when we went to our ward Breakfast. Then we just played and relaxed all day until it was time to go to Eric sister Michelle's house for dinner. We had a blast playing and visiting with family! Then we went to the annual Cul-de-sac of fire over by my parents home for some fun and entertainment and to connect with old friends we haven't seen in a while! When it got dark we went back to Michelle's for some amazing fireworks! It is so fun to have the fireworks that shoot into the sky be legal this year! People were shooting them off all around us, it was quite the show!

This is a picture I require my family to take every 4th! I am pretty sure Eric has worn the same shirt 4 years in a row! I may have had a repeat too!:)

These 3 little were so cute playing together! It is so fun to have lots of cousins!

Sadie, Stella and Anna

Hannah is such a happy baby! I thought this picture was cute!

Hope all of you had a fantastic 4th like we did!
